Getting a VISA

Basic Information for Japan Visa
Visa Validity

In general, a visa is only valid for one entry. A visa is valid for 3 months from the day of issuance. Therefore, entry into Japan should occur within this time frame. A Multiple entry visa is valid for 1 to 5 years.
Multiple entry visas can be issued to citizens of countries that Japan has bilateral agreements with and to visitors with business purposes. A Double-Entry Transit visa is valid for 4 months and can be used twice (once on the way to your destination and once on the return trip) to complete a round trip.

Visa Exemption Countries

If your nationality is on the list of countries that have a visa exemption agreement with Japan, you usually do not need to apply for an entry visa to Japan.
If your country is not included in the list, you need to obtain a short-term stay visa (“tanki-shouyou visa” in Japanese) from the embassy of Japan in your country.

Please read carefully the Japanese visa guide provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
If you need more detail information or check the list of exemption countries, please check the following website whether you need to apply for a VISA or not.
